‘Between’ speaks to uncomfortable dialogues that often go unsaid. The piece utilizes discarded materials to create spaces for unspoken words and supressed feelings. The chine collé process combines an intaglio substrate created from discarded packaging and plastic remnants imprinted on washi.
The vein-like reach of the tree is echoed in a transient boundary wall on which two figures are seated. They mirror aspects of the self in shadow and in light.
The silent tension of the spaces causes resounding chasms in the ‘Between’.
