Regi Bardavid

Regi Bardavid an Egyptian born painter works from her studio in Johannesburg, South Africa. Bardavid was born in Alexandria Egypt however has lived in many places including: Italy, Zimbabwe, Zaire and South Africa.

Bardavid studied at the Johannesburg Art Foundation under the guidance of Bill Ainslie (1979-1983), and later enrolled as a Fine Art student at UNISA obtaining a Bachelor of Art in Fine Arts degree (1989).

Bardavid has been the recipient of numerous awards: she was a merit award winner for the New Signature competition twice (1984 and 1989); the Kempton Park Awards twice(1994 and 1995). She also won the Bertrams African Award in 1994 and was a finalist at the Brett Kebble Awards in 2003.

She has participated in numerous solo exhibitions and group shows and continues to practice art full time.
