Regi Bardavid an Egyptian born painter works from her studio in Johannesburg, South Africa. Bardavid was born in Alexandria Egypt however has lived in many places including: Italy, Zimbabwe, Zaire and South Africa.
Bardavid studied at the Johannesburg Art Foundation under the guidance of Bill Ainslie (1979-1983), and later enrolled as a Fine Art student at UNISA obtaining a Bachelor of Art in Fine Arts degree (1989).
Bardavid has been the recipient of numerous awards: she was a merit award winner for the New Signature competition twice (1984 and 1989) and the Kempton Park Awards (Thami Mnyele) twice(1994 and 1995). She also won the Bertrams African Award in 1994 and was a finalist at the Brett Kebble Awards in 2003.
She has participated in numerous solo exhibitions and group shows and continues to practice art full time.
